*This week for my blog my team and I wrote a team blog. This is our last week being a team together since team changes are happing this weekend. Hope you enjoy*

Dear X Squad,

Team Estuary here, coming at you live with our last Team Estuary blog from Starbucks in Bangkok. With team changes approaching, we wanted to let you in on where Estuary has come from so that when you are sitting across from one of us in the future, everything makes a lot more sense.

It all started in June 2017, with blank stares stretching across a plastic folding table. Inside, our reactions were more like…

We barely knew each other at the time, but after 5 months we’ve learned quite a bit about each other, so here’s some things you should know about each person:

Sarah Hopkins

Height:5′ 3”

Extrovert and External Processor

Milk makes her explode

Mizzou and marching band obsessions

Will remember every detail about your elementary best friend that lives in Idaho she overheard in your conversation with your mom. Information may be skewed.

Adventures for Sarah include: historical sites, going to grocery stores, and making sketchy travel arrangements

Signs Something is Up: she’ll stop talking.

Important Notes: Sarah is like a mother so she’s willing to take care of you in any way at anytime of the day, she enjoys dancing, it’s easier to accept her mass consumption of Oreos rather than to talk about it, will bring a excess of snacks everywhere or even go above and beyond to make dairy-free foods that are delicious AND share but don’t take advantage of that.

Common Words/Phrases: “I see your getting frustrated, can I help?” “situation” “did you know…?” “Did I tell you about that time…” *sign language you can’t understand*

Kristine (aka Pam Beesly)

Height: 5′ 5”

Hair Color: ?

Introvert and Internal Processor

Was sad she missed Comic-Con 2017

Has a minute by minute schedule she follows pretty closely

Loves the Office, knives, and Guns n’ Roses

Adventures for Kristine: hiking, making to-do lists, watching super hero movies

Signs Something is Up: “I’m fine” and avoids eye contact, give time to process and return later

Important Notes: you will have to order her to go to bed when she’s sick and allow her to make up for it in her own way when she’s better, get her french fries when she’s sick,  puns are the key to her heart and she writes her own dad jokes, hyper aware of others’ emotions, she loves tacos, apple pie, and brownies, she can sing but will always deny it. Make her do it for ministry anyway. Really good at taking care of sick people.

Common Words/Phrases: “I’m a nice person really.” “britches” “That’s bomb.”

Molly

Height: 5′ 5”

LOVES dogs – will always ask how to say ‘dog’ in every language

You will learn to love Wasabi too – that’s her dog, not the spice

Will get tears in her eye if you start crying

Guilty Pleasure: watching military homecoming videos

Adventures for Molly: getting to sleep all day, reading Harry Potter, anything with elephants

Signs Something is Up: just look at her facial expressions.

Important Note: don’t take her to places with big crowds/night markets, she looks like the hulk when she gets angry, she comes alive when she’s dancing, always super helpful and will volunteer for things she doesn’t want to do – don’t always let her, she’s not texting on her phone she’s just reading, ELEPHANTS.

Common Words/ Phrases: “lost as a ball in high weeds” “Tell me where to be and when to be there”

Sarah Schultz

Height: 5′ 7”

Obsessed with movies, but doesn’t actually have any with her

She hates cold rain and working out

Feels sympathy for all the stray animals

Adventures for Sarah: beaches/water, people asking her to watch a movie, anywhere she can get a good picture

Signs Something is Up: storms around really loudly *grunting noises*

Important Notes: She really loves chocolate and frappe’s and playing games…like a lot, cuddles…yes please! Needs entertainment. Doesn’t pay attention to what anyone says unless directly spoken too, memory needs improvement – so play memory games with her. Her love language is gifts and always knows what to get someone to cheer them up. Will probably buy herself dinner and then give it away to a homeless person.

Common Words/ Pharse: “Don’t forget to pray before you go to sleep!” “Wanna play a game!?” “I”m bored”

Talya

Height: 5′ 5”

Will do anything to kill a mosquito, but someone else has to kill the spiders

Loves the show Suits

Will sing all the songs she hears in public

Snapchat queen

Adventures for Talya: staying in bed, hiking, and going to the beach

Signs Something is Up: she raises her eyebrows then starts talking and her voice fades out till there’s nothing

Important Notes: listen to all her stories about her intramural job or childhood or just all of them, NEEDS her introvert time and might just disappear sometimes, she’s really good at connecting with teenagers, sports are important, doesn’t enjoy feelings but will listen to them anyways and then give you logical advice if you ask for it, you MUST ask for her opinions and she’ll tell you the truth, she is wise as heck.

Common Words/Phrases: “do you know what I mean?” “or I don’t know”

Jenn

Height: 5′ 2”

Loves all things plants

You should get used to everything smelling like essential oils

Spends lots of time with her ukulele

Adventures for Jenn: art or flowers or nature, painting and Earl Grey tea

Signs Something is Up: stops smiling, starts crying, and says short sentences

Important Notes: Don’t talk to her in the morning until she starts talking to you, Will teach you how to eat the WHOLE apple. Doesn’t enjoy movies unless she’s sick or it’s Star Wars, she has severe FOMO and you can tell her she needs to go introvert, she genuinely asks questions so answer them well or she’ll keep asking more, DO NOT let her buy any Nutella unless she’s on her period.

Common Words/Phrases: “yeah, yeah” *talks in a weird voice*

Now that you know a little about my team, and seen how far we have come now you know how to take care of them if they are your new teammate. Please take care of them, they mean the world to me.

Love,

Team Estuary
