I meant to post this last week but…
We only have 11 weeks left on the Race. Like What how did that happen. Read to see what I have been up to the last 11 weeks!
Month 7-Lesotho
Teaching history to high schoolers. Who would have known that I would have been qualified to teach History to Lesotho children just because my dad made me learn and retain information! I got the opportunity to teach 8th-12th grade students about WWI and they helped me learn about Southern African History. We also did door to door ministry in a mountain village for a weekend. (It is probably the most beautiful place I have been on the race despite the few hours we spend on train traveling through the mountains of Montenegro.)
Month 8-South Africa
We spent a day of ministry at an orphanage and painted their playground then got to help take care of the kids for the afternoon. Oh how I have missed getting to cuddle with infants! Just as much as I missed getting to cuddle with infants I forgot how much I love getting to help preschoolers learn! This month we got multiple opportunities to go to a local primary school and help assist in the preschool class rooms.
Also in South Africa
Sometimes ministry is getting to go to Kruger National Park for a week and braai every night. Thanks so much to Middleburg Cross Generation Church and our hosts pastors Jan and Thys!
Month 9- Zimbabwe
This month we are leading a VBS style children’s program called Holiday Club. About 600 children from the surrounding villages, squatter towns, orphanages, group homes, and apartment complexes came to church to learn about Jesus. Here’s a recap video of what Holiday club looked like last week. 80+ children gave their lives to Christ! Praise the Lord.
Tomorrow is our last day in Zimbabwe and we are going out with a bang! Doing another Holiday Club! On Monday, we had over 650 children come to a local school and learn about Jesus. Tomorrow we are hoping for even more for one more Holiday Club.
Then we are heading to Haiti!
Hopefully I will have an update for you after Holiday Club tomorrow but since we leave for Haiti tomorrow I’m not sure the next time I will be on wifi.
Thanks for following my journey this far we only have 9 weeks left and then I will be home!
