Our ministry this month is to help at a guest house that hosts short term mission teams. The first week of ministry we helped with a short term team of medical professionals and conducted 4 medical clinics in rural towns that don’t provide medical needs to lower income citizens. We saw a total of 490 patients and 120 of those patients accepted Christ. See this medical team wants to make sure that every patient that comes through hears about the gospel. So before they even see a doctor they listen to a short presentation of the gospel and have a chance to respond and ask for prayer and then we pray over them. Then if they need to they can go see a doctor, a chiropractor, and a dentist. We worked with a great team here this first week of about 20 people. And it was a great introduction to Haiti! Pictures will be added later.
The rest of this month will look a little different. This week we have worked on making the guest house more functional; organizing things, cleaning, and making more beds available. Because next week another team will be joining us while we work with an orphanage in town. We will help host them by making food for them, keeping the house clean, and building relationships with them. After that we will continue to fix up the guest house, paint some walls, construct a pantry and get ready for the last month of the Race.
This is the last month that I will be with Team Delta. Next month in the DR will be all squad month so the whole squad will be staying together and we will be in charge of finding our own ministry contacts for that month. So no more teams just doing whatever the Lord calls us to.
